Vest or jersey in hi viz. Day and night streets, road, trial or path, no matter. If nothing else I have a clip on hi viz triangle I keep in my trunk with the spare tube to wear.
When I drive I notice that just a plain shirt of any kind does not stand out from the background. I noticed that I see people in hi viz better in daylight so I wear it when I ride.
Never been hit or even brushed.
