Look at the scorecard of this recent match, in Notts 1st innings 12 players batted, because Sidebottom had to leave to play the T20 against Pakistan, so his innings is listed as 'retired not out', is this something that is unique to English cricket, I've heard of allowing substitutes but it seems very strange to see 12 batsmen in one team and 11 in the other? Do any other countries do that?
