Do these college chemistry courses satisfy medical school pre-requisite coursework?

I took Intro to General and Organic Chemistry I, II, and III at St. John's University (worth 12.0 credits total) with labs. I also took Biopharmaceutical Chemistry (4.0 credits), Principles of Toxicology I (4.0 credits), and many other upper-level science courses (histology, pathology, anatomy, etc.). Supposedly, medical schools require General Chemistry I and II, and Organic Chemistry I and II (all with labs). I didn't take those courses because they were all combined in the 3 courses mentioned above.

Would my courses still satisfy admissions requirements? I called up two med schools and they said to check with my Pre-medical Advisory Committee...so apparently, I didn't get a yes or no answer. Maybe they are compatible, and the advisory committee will tell me what to put on my AMCAS application???

I don't know, but I'll hear from them next week, I hope. There's no way I'm taking four chemistry courses just to satisfy that "on paper" requirement. That's ridiculous, and many people agree that it would be insane to have to do that. What do you think?

I'd wait to hear from the advisory committee. You can't be the first person from there applying to med school.

Your MCAT scores will tell the real tale as to whether the courses were adequate or not.

Best of luck.
