They seem to be going out of their way to keep the guy around. He comes to town as nothing but part of David Vickers' camera crew. He comes back a few months later to have an affair with Langston. That goes to hell, without his relationship with Langston he has no reason to be there so what happens? He gets attacked! Of course after that gets solved he'd once again have no reason to be around so what do they do? They give him a brother. But no, one brother isn't enough to keep a character in town, not for long anyway. So of course he needs a long lost mother and another brother! Then, just to really hit the nail on the head, and make sure he has to stick around for at LEAST the next nine months what do they do? They have him possibly having a baby with one of the shows most prominent characters! Shesh, I mean I don't care if he sticks around but could they make it a little less obvious?
Do the OLTL writers REALLY love Ford or something?
