I have noticed in forums and other sites that this is common, especially at local community colleges.
@ David V, I hear ya, but being respectful and having documentation was not MY issue and it was not a student worker either. There is no excuse to allow bitter, disgruntled College employees to stay with the college especially when they work with the public a lot and a lot of students talk about these rude college employees. It's heard all over campus and we marvel at this. I think there time of usefulness in working with the public has passed. Maybe they need to go back to school.
The argument of rude people being everywhere is mute in light of this being within the realm of academics, something we SHOULD hold to a higher standard! For many the road to a BA or a masters or what have you starts at the financial aid office. This is not acceptable by a long shot, You don'y raise your voice or cuss at students, and this was the head of the department.
