Do the bride and groom's wedding rings have to be the same weight and thickness?

I think that the wedding rings have to match, plain, same metal, but I don't know if they have to be the same weight and thickness, or if the bride's should be thinner and lighter, what is usually done?

Nope - you can have whatever you like!

My friend's don't even have the same colour metal! Her's is white gold with diamonds, and his is yellow gold and plain.

They got rings they both liked rather than a matching set - so go for what you like and what suits your engagement ring

the brides ring is suppose to match her ENGAGEMENT RING. usually if she gets one that matches her husband's ring, then it would look silly with her ring. I have never seen any that are a complete match, and rarely do i see couple's that even have the style match. Many women like diamond eternity bands and a lot of guys like a heavier gage metal. Pick what you like, and let him pick what he likes.
