Of course not. Christ came to fulfill the law, not to change it. If you read the ten commandments and then the beatitudes, it's clear that the beatitudes fulfill the law of God--to love God above all, and love our neighbors as ourselves. The beatitudes give us specifics about how to carry out the ten commandments. Example: if we have no humility (or poverty) of spirit, as the beatitudes tell us to gain, we cannot really love God or neighbor...If we have no meekness, we cannot express love of God or neighbor. If we don't mourn over over our sinfulness, we do not show love of God or our neighbor whom we may have wronged....The beatitudes give us explicit information about how to carry out the ten commandments. Your question sounds like it comes from too much thinking....In spiritual, spiritual concepts come from the heart and spirit, not just the head....

relation do they have to each other?
Thank you all for your answers. I appreciate your help.

They go along with the Ten Commandment,s, if we can
understand the word of God it all tie,s in together,

The 10 Commandments can be broken down into two thoughts echoed throughout the bible: love God and love your neighbor. That's exactly what the beatitudes are all about. They are an expression of God's love toward us.

I think they're in perfect harmony, as should be expected if both of them were truly given by the giver of the Law.

The Beatitudes did hold to the "Ten commandments", as well as "The meek shall inherit the Earth".
The eleventh commandment modified, Thou shalt not be speaking as thee witnesses the violation of the previous Ten. and the meek shall inherit the Earth, one shovelful at a time, after your strength has be stifled.

No they do not reject the ten commandments, they Are the ten commandments if you read them carefully!
