Do T-Mobile give you good upgrades at the end of your contract?

I'm thinking of getting a new t-mobile contract, but i was wondering whether any other t-mobile users have managed to get a good deal out of them while upgrading your phone?
I know that some other networks won't give you a good deal, and they don't budge when you ask for more minutes or a better phone without raising the cost per month.
Has anyone had any experience when t mobile gave/didn't give you a good deal when you asked for something better at the end of your contract?
I hope that t-mobile aren't as stubborn as the network that I'm with at the moment! Please let me know your opinions :)
