Also, do they take into account that the reading might be slightly higher or lower if the thermometer is stored in a higher or lower temp.
For example, if the thermometer is stored at 10-degrees, and you are trying to measure an object that is 90-degrees, then the thermometer will never be able to reach the same temperature as the object! (How is this accounted for officially?)
