haha hell yeah i do martial arts and still want to watch those.
its like asking do real spies like watching james bond?
its obviously fake (for the most part of movies) but still entertainment.
and yeah i watched that film recently its good for action pretty typical teen movie
but lol you won't be learning MMA after like what 2-3 months like your man in the film.
alri where to start
k martial arts movies these days are just as good Crouching tiger was the last epic movie of martial arts that i have recently seen, but there is one Ip man (wing tsun/chun style) and it looks unreal and will be a trilogy
check out the fight scenes on youtube.
MMA is a big fad at the moment if i were you i'd do a traditional style as somebody pointed out in another question all MMA is is a blend of styles
and its recent
but there have been styles (i can't name them i don't know and don't want to offend) that have done that which are centuries old and still work.
everybody that watches UFC thinks BJJ and Muay Thai are the best because its all they see.
now they did prove to be the best for cage fighting but in street fights you can bite scratch poke fish hook etc etc
other styles teach that but obviously for safety cant be employed into MMA.
i suggest you go to gyms/school halls around your area check out if there are classes (there will be)
then research the styles and make sure it isnt a Mcdojo (basically a scam google for more info)
and try a class or two to see if you like it
Believe me i picked it up as a NY resolution and haven't looked back.
my friends sort of slag me for aspiring to be like something in the movies but hey some stage it's going to help me if i get mugged and at least it shows that i want to be something in life.
ok the difference is MMA teaches you physical strength and nothing else you have to be fit strong etc like a boxer basically but it doesnt teach the 3 styles properly my eg is always somebody doing MMA for 20 years against a person who studied all 3 styles for 20 years
the person who studied the styles separetly will win because he knows how to intergrate his body into 3 more experienced styles.
Trad martial arts teaches you physical strength, mental strength, philosophy & history, mediation, breathing excercises etc basically it makes you a new person. its better
PANT sorry for such a long answer
