...predominantly white neighborhood? I'm not asking this to get a bunch of ignorant answers. It's for an essay I'm writing on the play A Raisin In The Sun. They main characters move from an inner city apartment into a predominantly Caucasian suburban neighborhood and the neighborhood council tries to prevent them from moving in. I was just wondering if there were perhaps any reasons for them not wanting a family of African Americans to move in besides racial prejudice. As in perhaps it would actually affect the neighborhood value or something. Please don't leave any stupid comments I am a pretty open minded person I was just wondering if this was true in the 1950s and if it's still true today.
