Do Ps1 games work on the PS2?

Do PS1 games work on the PS2? I have some really fun PS1 games I really want to play, but my PS1 is dead. I was thinking if maybe PS1 games would work on my PS2? My PS2 is one of the fat ones btw. Oh, and if PS1 games do work on the PS2, how do i make them work?

Just put the ps1 game in the ps2, like you would a ps2 game :D

also, ps1 memory cards will work in ps2
so you can have all your old ps1 game-save data ^-^
 
Depends on your PS2 and the condition of your PS1 games. If they're scratched then probably not. A lot of PS2s don't like PS1 discs, too, so the chances are quite low, I'd say. Best way to find out is to try it.
