do pregnancy test fails when you got positive?

I just got a false positive the other day! They are very rare, though...they don't normally happen. They can be caused by three things: hCG shots at the doctor's office, faulty test, or you left the test sitting for too long. If you left it sitting for too long, it can cause an evaporation line, which looks like a positive result.

Otherwise, you're pregnant.
 
First answer is not true... some tests are really just bad! I once had a test that was positive... and it was before 1 minute... i took another test(diff brand) and it was negative... naturally confused i waited... by that night the positive test had faded to barely visible... and i looked it up online and that has happened a LOT before... false positives are likely to fade with time... hope that helps
 
a positive is a positive as long as it appears before ten minutes. after that it could be an evaporation line. But if it's positive your pregnant!
