Do pre-paid credit cards really raise up your credit score?

I'm 23 and don't have good or bad credit. Never used credit cards and don't have past bills due.
My husbands credit score is 378.... Yeeeaaaahhh I know. We are working on paying off his debts and want to start raising both our credit scores. Do pre-paid credit cards work to build up your credit?
