Do pleco fish bite? Do they have teeth?

Hi! I have a large pleco fish, approximately 7-8 inches long. He's a gorgeous fish. Anyhow, we've been having renovations done in our house this week, and I had to empty the aquarium so that we could move it. When I took him out of the aquarium, I used the biggest net I had, which still wasn't big enough, but needless to say, he did not enjoy being in the net. I moved him as quickly as possible to a bucket of water, but he wouldn't let go of the net. I swear he was biting it. Is this possible? They don't have teeth, do they? He's got a giant mouth, but if he wasn't biting, maybe he was just caught in the net? Once he calmed down and stopped thrashing, he finally let go, or got himself free or something... Do they bite? I've had him for a couple of years and have never considered this before! But then I've never had to move him before...

i hear you can train them to eat out of your hands, so i assume they dont bite, but if they are sucking on the glass u can see little bristley looking things, maybe they are teeth i dunno lol, but maybe thats what got stuck on the net..

They do not have traditional teeth, but a rasping mechanism if you feed one out of your hand, it just feels like sucking, but rough like a cat's tongue. Their fins normally have spines, this is what likely got stuck to the net.
