If you ask why folks are afraid of the dark, doesn't if follow that there may be something in the dark? Are most so wound up in psychology and sociology that they wouldn't noticed being stalked by a sex offender? So, would you rather believe that you have a 'fear' of predatory animals or, that there may exist predatory humans? Is there real evil that you may be ignoring?

Yes, to a point.

Presumably one would not have to ask why people are afraid of the dark if one knows why people would be afraid.

If i can understand why a person may be afraid of the dark, then there is no need for me to ask.

I believe the real Evil that exists, is the ignorance that we exhibit towards one another, and yet allow it to continue unabated.

I feel that this ignorance helps to propogate the "predatory humans" that you speak of, in that the way we are complacent of this ignorance only serves to make us easier targets for these predators.

If there was no prey capable of being killed, there would be no predator capable of doing the kill.

At least for a little while, until we forget that it was ignorance that got us into this mess and fall into the same trap once more.
