do manga drawers always you circle pre sketching for heads?

What i mean is do they always do that thing were they draw a circle and then erase and then start adding detail because that to me seems like it would get anoying and for if something was in the way of the head or the head was in a background. Does it make the drawing easier to draw or better by doing this? Thanks
