Do liberals understand the nuance of the Arizona ruling?

Bolton UPHELD the law, and stayed only portions of the law that requires (by state statute) that officers investigate the status of anyone suspected to be here illegally

Absolutely nothing in Bolton's ruling bars state officers from doing so - its now at the discretion of the officer

Cops in Arizona are free to investigate and arrest those they think are here illegally

Aliens are required to carry papers by Federal law, and ANY Federal law can be enforced by state police

Why do liberals call this a "crushing defeat"?
