...they finally do go online? For example, I was raised in an over the top strict home, and when I finally was out from under their thumb I went wild. There was no internet then, but still, I smoked, dranked, and kissed any boy who stood still. I know the overprotectiveness had plenty to do with that.
Now I'm a parent. They have plenty of freedoms, I'm not as strict. I do have a no chatroom rule right now (ages 10, 10 and 11). I agreed to think about letting them go on a "kid friendly" chat site. If I shield them from this entirely, does it set them up for the same path?
