Some better than others. But remember that her job was sheer hell...and she wasn't a journalist...she was a slave. Now the editor she worked for made big bucks. But her job is pretty darned hard to come by. In real life, journalists make modest livings. Starter at a small daily newspaper? Not much above minimum wage. Stick around and work your way up, and you'll get paid better.
