you want to use gray primer if your top color is Black. also use a primer that is compatible with your top paint...so if your using lacquer paint use a lacquer primer. i recommend lacquer it dry's to the touch in about 10min and you can re-coat it after one or 2 min...now remember to steal wool the primer and do a couple coats and smooth that prime it will make all the difference....do light coats don't try to paint to much at one time it will not dry right and you can get run's have fun! if you take the bike completely apart it will be easy and don't forget to tape off the opening to the neck and crank as the bearings will be to tight with the paint in the opening you should hang the bike from a string or coat hanger so you can spin it around and get it at all angles.
