I'm thinking about joining the military after high school, and I was looking at the medical standards, and I'm not sure I understand this correctly.
I have an ASD (atrial septal defect) that means I have a VERY small hole in my heart. It’s a congenital heart defect.
From what I understand from reading about the medical standards for joining the military, I can’t have a congenital heart defect, even if I get the hole fixed, and sign a waiver.
Am I reading that right?
Information about an ASD:

Military Medical Standards (If you scroll down to where it says heart in bold, the first paragraph right underneath it talks about congenital heart disease):

Thanks
