My manual says to only use genuine Honda antifreeze in my cars engine coolant system because it uses aluminum parts and they say that even if it says 'aluminum protection' it might not be adequate. It's a 1996 civic. However, sitting in my garage is a nice bottle of antifreeze that my dad uses in his & my moms car. Is it ok to use ? It says it has long lasting aluminum protection on the bottle.
I just drive home from Florida and my cars coolant fluid level is like below the min Line. It's able to cool it's self because I had no problems but the fluid is brown and I figured I should flush it.
Ps drove from Florida to ma. I also changed the oil in my car today and only like less than 1 quart came out and it was all black and gross. I think civics like it rough
Oh and it has 169,200 miles. No vtec
