Do I need to upgrade the big 3 in my car?

I own a 97 ford explorer and want to run a ma audio hk401sx amp. I'm powering 3 10in ma audio subs in a bandpass box. I will wire to 1 ohm and the amp runs 1200 at 1 ohm ( amp is rated as .5 ohm stable). Does any one have any input on if I need to go 1/0 gauge for the big 3? Are the subs or amp any good ( I like ma ). Thanks for any help
