do i need to replace steering stem bearings on 2001 yamaha raptor?

i have a 2001 yamaha raptor atv and there is some play in the steering when it is sitting still i can grab the handlebars and move them back and forth just a little bit with out wheels moving would that be the steering stem bearings or tie rods or u tell me i really dont know thanks
