My daughters 1st b-day party is in 2 weeks and it is an outdoor party. (I have a raindate for it just incase). My house is a good size but not big enough for all the guests and kids to be indoors comfortably, that is why it is an outdoor party. It starts at 1:30 and I expect most people will be leaving no later then 4. There are about 30 adults invited and 9 kids ages 6 months-7 years. (I know it sounds like a lot but they are really just close family). Anyway everyone is invited and rsvp'd so I cant cut the guest number down anyway. I REALLY want this to be an outdoor only party. I know people will be going in and out to use the restroom, but aside from that I want to keep everyone (especially the kids) outside. There are some older people like i said little kids, but I just really dont want people to be hanging aorund inside. I dont have a tent but I do have a very shady yard and one large outside table with an umberella. Is it ok to ask people to stary outside, except to use the BR?
The configuration of our yard really wouldnt allow for a tent anyway, and they are just too expensive. I wont really mind of the little babies or older people step inside for a minute or two, but I dont want them hanging out in there for long periods of time. Is this unreasonable or perfectly acceptable? I mentioned on the invite that there will be kiddie pools, so I know people are assuming its and outdoor event. I have sunblock and bug spray ect to keep people from getting bitten or burnt.
