Do I need to inform building control?

In our attic we have two partition walls shutting off the edges where it gets way too low to be practical. They're of a lath and plaster construction.

There are two small doorways into these areas. I want to move one, but don't know if Building Control need to be involved.

As the walls aren't load supporting I don't think so, but anyone have any other reason why?
 
If in doubt ask anyway, your local authority should tell you on the telephone in principal if it is straight forward.
 
Is the property Listed? I believe this is the only circumstance that you would need to inform the authorities in this case.
