I need to set up the .net framework on my windows Vista machine. I have not set it up ever before. I want to go for the version 4 which is the latest at the moment. In the system requirements for the .net framework, it says that Vista SP1 or higher is required. I have Vista SP1. Is it OK to just install .net or is it a better idea to update SP1 as high as possible. My Vista is currently asking me to update to SP2. Are their any advantages in doing so? will there be any difference in the performance of .net? or should I just install.
Do I need to do a full Windows Vista update before installing .Net framework 4?
