i am replacing the head gasket on my 95 civic and was told i MUST have it top dead center... but it seems like for changing a head gasket that i can have it how ever i whant as long as the timing belt goes on the same, am i correct?
correct, but having it at tdc will help just incase you might accidently change the timing. if you mark the belt on the tooth of the belt and where it came off, it should be ok as long as it is put back the same as it came off.
