I got a bout of costochondritis in july that was cleared up with prednisone but I had a dry cough that didnt go away. The chest pain returned on august 31 but it was not cost. I started on dexilant sometime in Noveraber but it never relieved the pain. Tried prilosec after that and it was the first time since late august that I had some relief.
I stopped the prilosec due to the side effects after about a week. I tried prevacid next which was not effective and now I am on protonix. I've only been on this drug for a couple of days but I think it may do the trick as my chest seems to be a lot better. Anyways since this has been going on so long do I need to be worried about something more serious?
I'm sure all the stress I've been under the last year and having put on 20 pounRAB over a period of 3 to 4 years has led to this problem. I think if I stay on this drug for a few months and lose the weight I will probably be ok. I already have an appoinment a few days after christmas but I'm not sure whether I should get the procedure done or not. I don't have any insurance so this procedure is going to cost me a fortune.
