Do I need my NCIDQ to start a decorating business?

I have my Bachelor of Arts in interior design but I have not be able to
Do my internship. Can I open a decorating business just for residential until, I can finish
My internship and take the exam then I can expanded my business to interior design.
And what licenses would I need just for decorating ?
