do i need certain earphones for the lg rumor touch from sprint?

i had a blackberry and would use any regular earphones during a call and the other person and i could hear each other fine. i got the rumor touch from sprint and wen i use earphones durring a call the other person cannot hear what im sayin. do i need certain earphones or a certain headset for this? help me please
