I was asked to display some of my paintings and drawings at a local hair salon. Now the owner has offered the place for me to use as a gallery and use it to sell my work. I am assuming that yes I do need a business license, but what kind? I am in the state of California. I am meeting with her next week to go over some ideas and possibilities of what we can do. I am pretty sure that I will be giving her a percent of any work that is sold..but how much percent is still up in the air. I know that varies from other galleries and stuff, but does anyone know if there is a minimum or standard percent? I know that I have a lot of research to do and I would appreciate any ones input and help. Will I need to come up with a business contract as well? If you know of any website where I can get more information that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
