My van starts ok, but runs rough at idle. If at a stop light (warm or cold) if the car is left in drive for more than a minute or two, the engine stalls. While driving at 45 mpg, get little backfires and hesitations. And the check engine light is on. Original codes said various cylinder misfires. Did the timing belt and a full tune-up over Memorial Day weekend, replaced the spark plugs again, recently did a new fuel filter and have been through about 2-3 tanks of gas and nothing helps. Plus getting TERRIBLE gas mileage! Tried to run codes yesterday with the handheld sensor and it wouldn't link up. Kept saying link failure. New ECM needed? Is there a way to pull it out, reset it and put it back? Can I test it somehow without replacing? Thanks!
