Do I need a license to fish?

Im 13, and just want to go fishing for some fun at the local lake we have in New York, but not sure If I would need a license in order to fish or not.
Thanks, that didn't show up when I googled it.
 
Most states the ages that require a license is 16 to 64.
Check your states department of conservation website for your local rules.
