Do I need a business license for the type described below?

I am considers starting a PC troubleshooting and repair business with myself as the sole proprietor and no employees.

I am considering to just start this business without licensing to see if it is even marketable. Then get licensing later on.

I am wondering if their are any liabilities I need to consider as well.
