I am getting knee surgery and i was wondering if i need a blood test? I will be getting a blood test in 2 days for something else, but will that still mena i need a blood test?
more than likely you will, if your up coming blood testing is more than a day or two from the surgery. They need to check your blood prior to surgery for several reasons... they check for possible infection, indicated by an elevated white count, and they check clotting factors to make sure you won't bleed uncontrollably and several other potential issues are checked out prior to surgery.
