I am receiving my Master's degree in Gerontology May of 2010. My G.P.A. is currently 3.7. I am also looking into joining Sigma Phi Omega which is an Honor Society for Gerontology majors. I am interested in getting my PhD in either Gerontology or Neuroscience (psychology emphasis in aging). I am applying to school such as Purdue and UC-Berkeley. I've worked very hard in grad. school, and I plan on submitting my research papers during the application process. Also outside the classroom, I work as a Patient Counselor at the clinic where I also do lab work (analyzing urine and blood rh factor), I have work with individuals with Autism for almost 7 years, and I have volunteered at a hospice. I'm also looking into being involved in a support group to help people with family members with Alzheimer's Disease.
I would love nothing more than to have the chance of attending those schools. I enjoy research and subjects in aging. Also I heard that I have a good chance because the aging and Gerontology field is so important that they are going to need more people who have experience in that field.
What do you guys think?
