do i have to wait until im 18 to take my drivers test?

i took my permit test when i was 17 1/2 which was around april or may... so i was just wondering if i had to wait until i was 18 to take my driving test...i turn 18 next month so...just wanna know if i can take my test...within the next 2 weeks or so...or do i have to wait until i turn 18
i live at san jose CA
 
You have to have your permit for six months, but since you'll be 18 next month you can get it then. You don't have to wait 6 months.
