Do I have to pay TalkTalk the early termination charge for a sub standard...

...phone line and slow broadband? Ever since taking a TalkTalk land line, my telephone calls are marred by crackling and screeching noises and my broadband extremely slow - snail pace. It is near impossible to hear what people are saying when making and receiving calls.

When complaining to TalkTalk they have had to phone me back on my mobile because of these noises. They have now told me that there is nothing wrong with the line and that the noises are being caused by electrical interference - by the wiring in my house. To test their conclusion, I turned the mains electricity off then tried the phone - it made no difference. I have also tried a new handset, but this has made no difference either.

If I want to terminate my contract with talktalk, will I have to pay the termination fee considering the substandard phone line and broadband they offer?

Is there and ombudsman I can contact regarding this PROBLEM????
