Do I have to go to a military academy to become a commissioned officer?

I've been reading a lot about becoming a Commissioned Officer. I have a desire to join the military, but I would not without becoming a CO. I've read about OCS, and ROTC. However, do I still have to graduate a military academy if I wanted to become a CO?

Not necessarily. You can go to a college that has an ROTC program but you have to join the military BEFORE going to college. going to a Military Academy is like going to Harvard: you don't HAVE to go to it but looks good on a resume. It'd be best if you tried applying for an ROTC scholarship since an ROTC scholarship pays for everything except room & board
