Do I have to give my full name to angry customers?

I live in California and work in a retail store. There are occasionally some customers who get angry with me because of our corporate policies and they want to complain to our corporate office. They often demand I give them my first and last name. I do not feel comfortable giving my full name, so I only give my first name and last initial. Can employers require we give our full name to customers? Are there laws protecting our personal information? Should I use a pseudonym? Thanks for your help.
