Do i have to get a tie out for my beagle while camping?

Is it really needed for me to buy a tie out he walks off leash perfectly fine but i have yet to take him in the woods or anything he comes on command I was wondering if i could just get him a glow stick and put it on him at night with 10 of us there everyone should have a good eye on him does anyone know the chance of him taking off and me never getting him back i mean i still plan on getting a tie out but its also a matter of how much im really gonna use it he is trained to follow me for this exact reason
