Check the requirements for divorce--some States require a period of separation before a divorce can be granted.
Assuming there are no children, and no significant assets or liabilities (if you have children, I do NOT recommend divorcing without lawyers, and if you have a house or pensions or retirement plans, I recommend you at least consult a lawyer), the process is fairly simple. Most courts have forms you can use.
Good luck.
* Edit-- Since you have a child, I implore you to at least have an attorney look over the agreement. You are in agreement now, but if there are ever problems in the future, having everything spelled out correctly is CRUCIAL. I'm not for a second suggesting either of you is anything but fair or reasonable, but consider this. My kids' dad and I had a very amicable split, worked everything out. We had his lawyer draft the agreement consistent with our wishes, then had my lawyer look it over, who suggested a couple of tweaks. Because there was no negotiation required, or court appearances, we each spent maybe $500 in legal fees (we added the fees and split them equally). We have never had a problem since (and it's been over 15 years), but if we ever had, we had the security of knowing our agreement was spelled out correctly. Believe me, given the problems that can occur with children, it is well worth having it done right. Incidentally, my ex and I are still good friends--I stay with him and his wife when I visit my kids (in another State). If you can cooperate, it is SO much better for the kids.*
