Hi,
I have had back pain for about the last year and its been ongoing with little improvement (although in the first few months it improved well but then stopped improving)
I have seen a surgeon today and they have recomended that i have two discectomys two decompressions and also have a couple of "springs" fitted too. i am happy with what he says and i would trust him i am sure.
the thing is i dont know if i should go for it or not i am sure its something that many people say about but mine is improving all be it slowly and he says that given about 5 years it would "probably" improve back to normal.
the dilema is do i leave it and see if it gets better (at the moment not able to do my job and in some pain but with the tablets it is bearable). or have the op done and take the risks that go with it all be it that it sounRAB like in about 6months time i'll be fighting fit again... ish!
what do you think should i have the op or not?
