for the past 2 nights i have been going to bed , but into about 15mins of trying to get to sleep i start feeling short of breathe, and i feel as though i cannit breath. But when i sit up the breathing starts to loosen up. 2 days ago i went over a day without sleeping because i kept thinking i could'nt breath. also i have been having dioareha aswell..2 years ago i suffered from depression and panic attacks...could this possibly be returning?, i do often worry about things such as when im feeling ill or run down i always think i may have some sort of disease and it keeps me up all night and worries me. can anyone help shed some light? i have also been having abdominal pains.

Well when you tell me that you've had panic attacks in the past I automatically assume that you have anxiety. Noew your wondering whether it is returning. It is quite possible given what you have said. Do you ever get butterflies in your stomache, thats one of the main signs of anxiety. Worrying alot can cause anxiety to especially if it starts to effect how you sleep at night. I'd reccommend seeing a psychiatrist and talking about whats been going on with you latly. Have you ever been on any medication to help relieve those panic attacks that you used to have?

Hmm maybe you have some sort of virus/bug that's making it hard for you to breathe when you're laying down. I say this because you said your breathing loosens up when you sit up. If you're prone to anxiety you can definitely over think things and make things seem worse than they are. I always make my IBS out to be worse than it is when I don't have anything else to think about. As soon as I have a distraction I forget all about it and feel fine. Maybe you're sick with a bug and your anxiety is making you more nervous than someone who isn't prone to anxiety? In any case I think that it does sound like your anxiety is coming back. I would definitely contact a psychiatrist and have a consultation with them.
