Ok, i was just wondering, is it a good idea to join the military on the simple fact that i want to get away from my parents? I've been thinking about this alot and i just want some feedback. By the way, this question is as basic as it gets. My parents irritate me and i want to be on my own.

That's perfectly reasonable. My parents would be proud of me if I joined the military! (and i'm not even white)

You may have a better reason than this and just don't realize it. If you have no other reason to join the military than I would say no.

It is a major commitment that will take you away from your home and family for not a short period of time, but a significant part of your, i'm assuming, young adulthood.

I hope that you want to serve your country and be part of something that is bigger than yourself. I hope that you want to be guided into maturity, explore new opportunities, and prove to yourself that you can be independent.

Search your motives. You're the only one who can know for sure.

That's crazy, sorry. How old are you? Well if your old enough, go live by yourself. Or go on a trip with your friends, don't join the military though. It's better to just take a break from them or something.
