...a faulty transmission? I have a 2001 Honda accord, and at about 117,000 miles the replaced the faulty transmission free of charge due to it being covered under warranty. Now they noted that the car had 107,000 thousand miles when they did the work but it actually had more than that. They gave us a re-manufactured transmission with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. Now just less than two months out of warranty the check engine light comes on and gives me error code p0740. We take it to the dealer who spends a day doing another recall while they check on the transmission. Honda said since it is beyond 150,000 miles and one month out of warranty they wanted 3600 dollars for another re-manufactured tranny or 5000 dollars for a new one. I live in Arkansas, if I take them both to court do I have a chance? There has been a class action suit over this already and other people are on their 3rd or 4th tranny. Even the service manager at the dealer said he see lots of problems like this and that he thinks they should fix it. I called american honda and they basically stopped talking to me saying they will do no more to help us and that no one we can talk to at their organization will do anything for us. Again do we stand a chance in small claims court to get them to stand by their products?
