I was just wondering how much time, if any, do i have after graduating from boot camp? I recently enlisted in the Air Force. Just wondering if i had anytime to be able to spend with my family and friends.

12hrs after graduation you go to technical school. Tech school is a break from air force boot camp :).

Nope, you go straight to tech school. Although you might be able to take a nap on the plane.

My husband got 2 weeks after he got done with AF boot camp, but that was in 1990 and things have probly changed since then. Good Luck!!

No! Not unless you are enlisted in the guard. If you are you get some time off. I'm not exactly sure how much. I went through in August-September of last year. It wasn't hard so don't worry about it. You finish BMT (Basic Military Training), figure out your AFSC (job), then they ship your happy little butt out of Lackland, Texas to wherever your tech school is. I am in Eglin AFB, Fl. at NAVSCOLEOD. Good Luck,

In the mid sixties when I 'graduated' from basic training
at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas...I never
got a break..I was put on a train with a bunch of other fools and sent to Chanute Air Force Base at Rantoul, Illinois
for tech school...after geting through tech school, I got
a two week break before I headed back to Amarillo Air
Force Base at Amarillo, Texas for 'permanent party'
status...I LOVED AMARILLO...I was there when the
base was being phased out in 1968.... I loved the
United States Air Force and I think you will too.
