I am told i have many cysts on my ovaries and they are abnormally large. The cysts are small but there are more of them than is common. I am going to be referred to a gynecologist but i am freaking out a bit becasue it could mean infertility, especially since i have very irregular periods.
I had blood test a while ago because I was suffering from depression and I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The doctor who did the ultrasound has not seen those blood test results because he was testing for things like celaic disease and problems relating to digestion. But he does know that I was diagnosed with a mood disorder and suggested that my mood problems are possibly caused by a hormonal imbalance.
Is this something my psychiatrist would have checked for in the blood test? She was pretty comprehensive, but I don't know if there are maybe other ways you check for hormone levels?
